In the videogame Dungeon Defenders, is it better to upgrade a weapon's melee damage or Hero Damage Bonus?

I doubt it matters, but i am playing on Xbox360In the videogame Dungeon Defenders, is it better to upgrade a weapon's melee damage or Hero Damage Bonus?
first off ide just like to say, I F**KING LOVE THIS GAME!!! i got all the achievments for it!!



back to your question, raise the weapons melee damage, heros damage doesnt affect the weapons that much because it needs to be patched( does less then it should)(only really helps huntress as of now). ill give you a suggestion, if your using a squire make him pure tower since i already tried maxing out his hero damage and it didnt make much of a difference so do this instead. get a weapon that has 24+ upgrade levels preferably 28-29 and atleast a base of 200+ elemental damage on it stock. Max out only elemental damage so it goes super high "best weapon is malificars rapier from alchemental labetory insane" and to counteract enemies with resistance to that elemental type. simply get a pet with 20+ upgrade levels and max out only pet damage on it Note: this goes for apprentice and monk as well) Now as for huntress most definitly max out hero base damage because most of her weapons require just repeated base (white numbers)damage. i recommend the assault rifle "Blasticus" this can be obtained from the challenge called "Assault" on "Insane" difficulty. max out the base damage and make sure it has atleast 8 shots per second. HOPE THIS HELPED! ITS AN AWESOME GAME TOTTALY WORTH 15$!!
